The GamificationLab is happy to have a guest researcher from April on. Eduardo Harry will join our group and this is what he will be working on:
Technocultural resonances: sonic traces in contemporary computer games
The project seeks to explore the contiguities between sonic expressions of computer games and the historical urgencies and tendencies of a contemporary technocultural dispositif, inscribing the audiovisual expressions of media within a larger memory of technoculture. Such tendencies – which we are calling technocultural resonances – underlie the ways that sonorities are technically designed over time, including the way media devices imagine themselves in present day.
